Considering a used vehicle purchase? It's natural to have questions. At TruCarCheck, we've compiled answers to the most common queries buyers like you have. Q: How much does a pre-purchase inspection cost?
A: Our mobile pre-purchase car inspection report & TruCarCheck condition score is only $99 + applicable taxes.
Q: What cities does TruCarCheck operate in?
A: We currently provide this service in and around Brampton and GTA region
Q: Do I have to be there for the inspection?
A: No. While you’re welcome to be present, please understand that our inspectors arrive at the vehicle's location, complete the inspection, then prepare a report and forward it to you. All information will be included in the report and we are available to answer any questions you may have afterwards.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: You can cancel your order for a full refund for any reason up to 3 hour before the scheduled start of the inspection, or switch vehicles. The choice is yours.
Q: Is same-day service guaranteed?
A: We do our absolute best to get to every inspection as quickly as possible but we rely on the owner/seller's availability so we cannot guarantee that your inspection will be done same-day. In most cases if you order before 12 pm we will inspect the vehicle the same day.
Q: Do I have to schedule the inspection/coordinate between the seller and TruCarCheck?
A: No. We take care of all scheduling/coordinating with the seller to get the inspection done ASAP. Just let them know we’ll be contacting them and then sit back and wait for your TruCarCheck inspection report & condition score to arrive via email.
Q: How long before I receive my TruCarCheck inspection report & condition score?
A: You will receive your report via email 1-2 hours after we complete the inspection. We are then available by email, text or phone to answer any questions you may have. If you haven’t received it please check your spam inbox and/or contact us via WhatsApp/Text chat or email.
Q: What if I need an inspection on a vehicle that is located outside the zone that TruCarCheck doesn’t cover?
A: We will make every effort to get to any vehicle anywhere. If the vehicle is located further than roughly 40kms from the radius we operate in, there could be a travel fee of $20-$50 to cover our inspectors travel expense. We will discuss any additional charges with you before we begin the inspection and refund you fully if you choose not to go forward. Please Call/Text or email us with any questions.
Q: What if I want something specific checked out that isn’t already part of the inspection?
A: Put your special request in the comments section at checkout. We will make every effort to fulfill your request.
Q: Do dealerships allow on-site pre-purchase inspections?
A: Yes, we inspect vehicles at dealerships all the time. Simply provide us with your salesperson's contact details and we’ll take care of the rest.
Q: How long does the inspection take?
A: Once we are at the vehicle the inspection will take approximately 30-60 minutes.
Q: Can you tell me what I should pay for the vehicle?
A: Yes! Simply buy the Premium Package ($200) for the average market price of the vehicle of interest. It also Includes the Carfax Report and Lien Check etc. If you only want the Appraisal Value for it then it's just $20.
Q: How do you determine the Market Value of the vehicle?
A: We consider historic selling prices of comparable vehicles in the same location, including make, model, year, options, and odometer reading, as well as our inspection report and condition score. This figure is intended only as a guide, as sellers can choose to price their vehicles however they wish.
Q: Can I purchase a warranty after the pre-purchase inspection?
A: Yes! We have warranties available for purchase starting at only $49 for 90 days/3000 kms of coverage. Get more information here.
